1.5 million pound demolition and refurbishment
In 2021, GFG Industrial Services delivered a 1.5 million pound project for Synthomer UK Plc in Harlow.
The project involved the demolition of an old derelict building on site and the refurbishment of an old labs area into a new canteen facility to cater for the 200 staff on site.
Synthomer UK Plc in Harlow is a low-tier COMAH site built in 1948. The old derelict building had significant asbestos present due to the age and nature of the building. GFG Industrial Services was engaged to scope, budget, and complete the demolition as Principle contractor.
The creation of a new canteen facility was also part of this project and for this part, GFG Industrial Services fulfilled the role of both Principle Designer and Principal Contractor.
This project was brought in on time and to budget.
Office renovations
Due to the success of the demolition and refurbishment in 2021, Synthomer UK Plc engaged us in 2022 to conduct a 600K renovation of part of their main finance offices to accommodate an expansion in the staffing levels.
This project required the existing office floor to be gutted and renovated with the installation of an aircon system and a full modern suite of IT/Video conferencing.
Engineering solutions
Whilst working at Synthomer UK Plc in Harlow, GFG Industrial Services has also conducted several engineering projects.
These include Process safety upgrades to production facilities, installation of steam pumps for sustainably capturing condensate, and reducing site use of steam thereby lowering energy costs.
